Mapping Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza

In 2023, I worked with the National Wildlife Disease Program (NWDP) on communications materials as Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza swept across the United States and made its first appearances in Central and South America. I conceptualized these maps and collected the data to create them. I worked with GIS experts, directing the design of the maps, including choosing key data to represent, color, texture, and shapes. These maps were live on NWDP’s website and updated weekly throughout 2023.
